This policy sets out how Freelance Information Company Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 15550258 ("FIC", "we") behaves towards clients, the people we work with, suppliers and the wider community. It describes what we do now and what we commit to; it does not claim more than that.
Clients
- Clear prices. Every service has published options with fixed prices.
- Scope in writing. We confirm the scope in writing before you order. If something outside the scope comes up, we say so and quote it separately; the agreed price does not move.
- Honest advice. If a service is not the right fit, we tell you before any work starts.
- Visible progress. Every project runs in your own Client Workspace, where you can see each step, who has it and when it is due.
- Putting things right. If delivered work does not match the brief, we correct it at no extra cost, or refund the affected part, as set out in our Terms and conditions.
Data, confidentiality and security
- Files you upload are kept in your private workspace, used only for your project and deleted on request. We are happy to sign your non-disclosure agreement before you send anything.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Our website uses only the cookies it needs to work; it runs no analytics or advertising trackers.
- We handle personal data in line with UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
Responsible use of AI
We help clients take practical, safe first steps with AI, starting from their own data and setting out the risks to manage first. We will put a client's data into an AI tool only in the way agreed with that client for their project.
Ethics and the law
- We do not offer, pay or accept bribes, in line with the Bribery Act 2010.
- We do not tolerate slavery or human trafficking in our business or our supply chain, in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- If we have a conflict of interest in a piece of work, we will tell the client before the work starts.
People
We will treat everyone who works with us or for us fairly and with respect, without discrimination, in line with the Equality Act 2010, and keep working conditions safe and healthy.
Suppliers
We will pay suppliers on the terms we agree with them, and we expect them to meet the same standards on ethics, the law and data protection that this policy sets for us.
Community and accessibility
We do not run a community or charity programme at present; if we start one, we will describe it here. We check that our website's text is easy to read and that its pages work on phones as well as computers.
Concerns and review
If you have a concern about how we work, please tell us through our contact page; we reply within one working day. We will review this policy at least once a year.
